The recommended workarounds are:
PC: HP a workaround for HP printers only. It is Tagged Binary Core Protocol (TBCP), a protocol that allows binary encoded PostScript print jobs to be sent to a device over a non-binary protocol communication channel. TBCP can be used to transform a communication channel that supports standard protocol (ASCII) into a communication channel that can transfer Binary encoded data. If your printer is set up with the correct printer driver supplied by HP, this is an option you can select in the printer properties.
You can also use HP Jetdirect Print Servers. For more information see: http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport /TechSupport/Document.jsp?objectID=bpj05969
Mac: a BINPS queue is needed for IP printing. To set up the BINPS queue on MacOS X, go through the normal printer setup and type BINPS into the Queue Name. (LPR/LPD is a Unix print system which OS X uses by default for IP printing.)
